Art and ideas that resonate
Touring contemporary art across Victoria and beyond
NETS Victoria is the peak body for visual art, craft and design touring and the State’s only full-service visual arts touring organisation.
We take a hands-on approach to supporting and showcasing the work of Australian curators, artists, arts workers and arts organisations, connecting them with one another, and fostering collaboration through the provision of curatorial, financial and capacity building support.
We work with an established network of regional galleries to bring new exhibitions to life in new locations and support galleries to capture wider audiences.
Our exhibitions are enhanced by educational programs, encouraging increased audience participation and engagement with contemporary art.
We nurture new projects through seed funding via the Exhibition Development Fund grants program. We provide regional galleries with best practice support services for our touring programs including professional development opportunities.
NETS Victoria is a registered charity with a Board of Management supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and through the Federal Government’s arts funding body the Australia Council through the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy. We also rely on public donations and bequests to support our artistic program and new initiatives. Find out more here.
Our vision is for regional communities to be inspired and connected through access to authentic and cutting-edge contemporary art that challenges the status-quo, celebrates multiple viewpoints, and is valued as part of the State’s vibrant culture and economy.
We will deliver a bold, forward-thinking and inclusive Artistic Program that reflects the diversity of contemporary Australian artists and their stories.
We will achieve the funds to grow and support our team through taking an innovative and courageous approach to diversifying our income streams and extending our strategic partnerships.
We will be led by our values and demonstrate our commitment to community engagement, diversity and inclusion in both the work that we do and the ways in which we do it.
We listen and we lead.
We make space for new voices, grow space through our sector development, and capacity building work and hold space through active and authentic allyship.
We share openly what we do, why we do it, and how.
We demonstrate best practice, respect and ethical courage.
We celebrate the diversity advantage and proactively remove barriers to inclusion.
