Kent Wilson is an energetic advocate of the arts and arts workers, bringing a team-oriented approach that honours the power of collective action to achieve shared goals, guided by passionate and ethical leadership. He is committed to building capacity and resilience for strength and sustainability, working with artists and organisations to achieve objectives, growth, and ongoing viability.
The projects he has curated, produced, and directed are the recipients of numerous grants – across local, state and federal governments and agencies – and attract philanthropic and in-kind support from a wide array of sources. He has consulted and advised for arts organisations and arts workers, sat on assessment panels for state and local government grants, founded a successful non-profit organisation delivering two large triennials, and curated dozens of exhibitions and programs at the City of Boroondara, La Trobe University, and Castlemaine State Festival. Kent’s projects look to engage arts and non-arts audiences with insights into natural and cultural ecologies, learning, labour practices, social cohesion, and collaboration – always founded on an engagement with and respect for process, site, and audience.
