08.09.26

The NETS Australia network met in Ngambri/Canberra on Ngunnawal country recently for the Annual Gathering – Achievements, Big Ideas and Collaborations forum. Bringing together agencies from Australia’s aligned state and territory touring organisations across two days, the event focused on fostering connections, inter-agency collaboration, reporting on individual and shared achievements and activity around national standards and the NETS Australia website. NETS Victoria was represented by Director – Kent Wilson, Senior Exhibitions Coordinator – Sherryn Vardy and Exhibitions Coordinator – Elsa Ch’ng.

With an agenda that was driven by a mid-year member survey and facilitated by dynamic sector advocate Jade Lillie, the forum included interactive sessions with Michelle Newton (Head of Visual Arts) and Liz Tompkinson (Manager, Multi Year Investment) from Creative Australia and Tracey Cooper-Lavery (Head, Art Across Australia) and Tara James (Manager, Touring Exhibitions) from the National Gallery of Australia. The network also had the opportunity to visit sites and meet with senior staff members at the Office for the Arts, International Art Services, the National Portrait Gallery and Canberra Contemporary.
