After three years touring across eight venues in Tasmania, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia, Dr Jessica Clark’s fabulously devised curation Between Waves  concluded at Mildura Arts Centre, on 12 July 2026. Beginning at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) (VIC) the exhibition toured to Plimsoll Gallery (TAS), Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (NSW), University of the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery (QLD), Western Plains Cultural Centre (NSW), Latrobe Regional Gallery (VIC), Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre (SA), and Mildura Arts Centre (VIC).
 
The tour attendance for Between Waves was over 40,000 visitors, which is an incredible achievement for this important exhibition highlighting the national significance of First Nations contemporary art practice from the south-east of our continent. We are particularly proud of the great engagement outcomes for Australian regional galleries and communities, and especially for school children and young people. 
 
It has been a privilege to share art and to work with artists to broaden the reach of their ideas and their art, and to contribute to the flow and distribution of contemporary cultural materials.  We sincerely thank artists Hayley Millar Baker, Maree Clarke, Dean Cross, Brad Darkson, Matthew Harris, James Howard, Jazz Money, Mandy Quadrio, Cassie Sullivan, this mob and curator Dr Jessica Clark who have given passionate support to the exhibition throughout the tour.
