Victoria’s Treaty: It’s Here!!
NETS Victoria is proud to celebrate this historic moment: the establishment of Victoria’s first Treaty!
NETS Victoria recognises and celebrates the announcement of the Treaty between First Peoples of Victoria and the Victorian Government. The treaty means that the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria will now be a permanent representative and decision-making body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria. The Assembly will form part of a new entity, Gellung Warl, which will also include an accountability arm and a truth-telling body. For more information about the Treaty visit Victoria’s Treaty | treatyvictoria.vic.gov.au or TREATY FOR VICTORIA | First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria.
The Victorian Government and the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria are inviting all Victorians to come together this Friday 12 December at John Cain Arena for a special ceremony and public concert featuring music, dance and cultural performances.
The free public event will feature some of Australia’s most iconic artists including: • Alice Skye • Baker Boy • Briggs • Deborah Cheetham Fraillon • Missy Higgins • Uncle Kutcha Edwards • Yothu Yindi
Doors for the event will open from 5:00pm.
Tickets are available for free at ticketek.com.au.
