Innovate: Our Reconciliation Action Plan goals achieved—
03.03.25
We are delighted to have achieved our goals in our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, working alongside our Board, First Nations Advisory Committee and Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group. Our sincere gratitude to the individuals involved for their tireless work and dedication to supporting organisational change.
We have developed several First Nations strategies including for procurement, cultural learning, communication, recruitment, retention and professional development, as well as A Guide for Venues: Engaging with First Nations Curators, Artists, and Audiences, a free resource available on the NETS Victoria website.
Our exhibitions in 2024 included 60 First Nations artists, and 7 First Nations curators. NETS Victoria extends our deep appreciation to all the First Nations creative practitioners who have contributed to exhibition projects, public programs, truth-telling, storytelling and touring throughout the year.
Director of NETS Victoria Claire Watson says “NETS Victoria is deeply committed to First Nations First in contemporary conversations, exhibition contexts and creative expression relating to culture, history and identity. On behalf of the NETS Victoria Board of Management and staff we thank all First Nations artists and curators for their cultural leadership, willingness to share knowledge and enthusiastic support of NETS Victoria’s touring projects.”
