FAYEN D’EVIE

Fayen d’Evie is an artist and writer based in Muckleford in rural Victoria. Her practice explores drafting, editing and translation of texts and paintings as interdependent methods for critical, imaginative and poetic enquiry. She is also the founder of 3-ply, which investigates artist-led publishing as an experimental, conceptual and strategic device to expand or disrupt the production, transmission or archiving of knowledge.
Recent solo exhibitions include “Not All Treasure is Silver and Gold, Mate…” at West Space, Melbourne. Recent group exhibitions include: ‘Just as Money is the Paper, the Gallery is the Room’ at Osage Art Foundation, Shanghai; ‘No, You’re Product’ at Slopes Projects, Melbourne; ‘Sunny and Hilly’ at Minerva, Sydney; and ‘Melbourne Now’ at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. Recent artist curatorial projects include: ‘SLIDE 2014’ and ‘3-ply presents Transit Lounge/Reading Room’ at Gertrude Contemporary; and ‘3-ply/The Stool’ at Good Press Gallery in Glasgow.
Fayen received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012. She also holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the Australian National University, and a B. Sc. Hons. in Physics from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.FAYEN D’EVIE
