Exhibition Development Fund 2019 – Successful Applicants!

04.07.19

The NETS Victoria Board of Management is excited to announce the successful applicants of our grant to get their exhibitions and projects up on the road for 2019.

The Exhibition Development Fund (EDF) program supports the Victorian arts sector with grants of up to $10,000 to arts organisations and curators who wish to develop new exhibitions and projects of contemporary art, craft or design with the aim to tour.

The 2019 successful applicants are:

Central Goldfields Art Gallery to engage independent curator Georgia MacGuire to research and develop a new touring exhibition, presenting the work of Ngardang Girri Kalat Mimini – Mother Aunty Sister Daughter; an organisation committed to promoting the unique art practices from Victoria, focusing on regionally located indigenous artists. This project will open from 17 August at the Central Goldfields!

Horsham Regional Art Gallery to assist in the development of a touring exhibition in which a group of 10 contemporary artists will respond to the works of a 17th century ‘still life’ painter, exploring the genre of still life by confirming its relevancy in the 21st century.

Latrobe Regional Art Gallery to engage artist and curator Trent Walter (Negative Press) in the development of a touring exhibition creating graphic responses, as an editioned portfolio, on what it means to be ‘From Australia’ in 2021.

The Exhibition Development Fund has previously assisted projects throughout Victoria including the highly successful current touring exhibition I hope you get this: Raquel Ormella curated by Shepparton Art Museum, and the recently launched FEM-aFFINITY, produced with Arts Projects Australia and curator Dr. Catherine Bell.

The next round of the Exhibition Development Fund will open in February of 2020. For more information, contact NETS Victoria.
