NETS Victoria advice service

As the peak body for visual arts touring, NETS Victoria provides advice and support on all kinds of exhibition touring to the sector at no cost. You can either consult our Advice Bank or meet with us face-to-face to seek advice on the practicalities of developing and touring your exhibition.

We also sell the tour bible, Travelling Exhibitions: a practical handbook for metropolitan and rural galleries and museums and provide opportunities for artists, curators and organisations to promote their touring exhibitions for in our biannual publication, Art_a_base.

State Funding

Funding for developing a touring exhibition in Victoria can be sought through Arts Victoria's Touring Victoria program. The Touring Victoria program supports, encourages and enables the touring of quality, professional Victorian arts product to regional and outer-metropolitan communities across the State.

National Funding

The Federal Government provides support through the Visions of Australia program. Visions of Australia aims to enable more Australians to enjoy our diverse culture by accessing exhibitions of cultural material. It provides funding to eligible organisations to develop and tour exhibitions of Australian cultural material across Australia.

Finding a supplier

A list of suppliers including packing, crating and freight companies is available to members of Museums Australia (Victoria). www.mavic.asn.au
